This is a fun opportunity to hear stories read aloud -- something we all enjoyed as kids, but you don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.
As the tradition goes, we’ll read stories written by the 19th century Scottish writer, George MacDonald - a huge favorite around here. We’ll start with his tale called The Golden Key.
MacDonald’s stories are known for being highly imaginative and full of a deep, yet accessible wisdom. As a writer, he was a true innovator, and had a significant influence on Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, and Madeleine L’Engle. (The photo of MacDonald shown here was actually taken by Lewis Carroll in the 1860's.)
