We're continuing our much-loved tradition on the porch at Cedar House. This is a fun opportunity to hear stories read aloud -- something we all enjoyed as kids, but you don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.
We’ll be reading a short story written by George MacDonald, who’s a huge favorite around here. MacDonald’s stories are known for being highly imaginative and full of deep, yet accessible teaching. As a writer, he was a true innovator, and had a significant influence on Lewis Carroll, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, Madeleine L’Engle, and many others. (The photo of MacDonald shown here was actually taken by Lewis Carroll in the 1860's.)
