On a number of occasions, we have encouraged artists to use their unique perspectives and abilities to respond to tragedy. Doing so can bring hope, encouragement, and coping ability to individuals and to whole communities. Karen Robinson spent awhile in Paradise California last week with a woman who lost her home in last year's enormous fire. Karen returned with some amazing pictures showing how works of art can bring hope and healing to a community that was devastated. At this gathering we'll spend awhile showing those pictures and talking about the power of artists in such moments.
Join us — we’ll provide coffee, tea, and some light morning fare. You bring yourself, and if you’d like, some of your artwork to share.
